The Centre consists of two departments – the Department of Historical Sciences and the Department of Philological Sciences, and is focused on a wide range of activities aimed at
archaeological surveys, excavations, and office studies of artifacts;
interdisciplinary study of material and spiritual culture and history of ancient and medieval Turkic peoples;
comparative historical study of Turkic languages;
revealing, copying, and decoding Old Turkic runic inscriptions;
comparative study of the folklore heritage of Turkic peoples of Eurasia;
expert work and rescue excavations;
work in archives and museums, and others.
